I was made for sunny days...

It's SO SO SO nice out today! 82 degrees and SUNNY! The perfect day to stroll around town cold tea and my ipod. Unfortunately for me, I can barely walk around the house. Monday I woke up and couldn't walk. Scariest. Thing. Ever. I thought I was crippled. I made it to the bathroom, and then crawled up the stairs to get my phone and call Jesse. We went to the ER, and they said it was a pinched sciatic nerve. Then they said the only cure is to have the baby, wrote me a prescription for vicodin, and sent me away. REALLY!? I know the ER is a busy place, and they've always got lots of people to see, but REALLY? They barely told us anything, and when I asked why they would prescribe me vicodin when I'm 31 weeks pregnant they just said, "it's safe" and to call my doctor and tell her I would be on it for a few days. Wow, thanks for not even calling my obgyn and making sure it IS safe. They didn't even ask if I had a high-risk pregnancy! Obviously I didn't take the meds, and left limping in pain. I should also mention that before I was seen by a doctor I hobbled painfully around the ER while at least 5 different nurses and staff walked by obviously noticing my condition and not asking if I needed a wheel-chair or anything for that matter. If I didn't have such a great obgyn that worked for Porter Hospital, I would most definitely transfer to Fletcher Allen.
Phew, I'm done ranting now. Sorry for submitting you to that.
So, I've spent the last few days hanging out around the house. Not being able to go outside for walks and fresh air has been more difficult than I thought it would be. Don't even mention not being able to clean the house from top to bottom like I usually do. Jesse's been incredible though, (as he always is) and has been such a huge help. Being told you're sexy while you limp around moaning in pain only happens when you're truly in love. Forgive me for being a total sap. Jesse's Momma got me in for some physical therapy where she works, and I couldn't be more thankful. After just one session I was walking better. I'm now a physical therapy junkie and wish I could go everyday. I'm progressively getting better, and with all the rain that's on it's way I'm sure resting around the house will get easier.

If only I could be resting and repairing here with endless books and tea:

The good think about being laid up, is I've had nothing better to do but work on Etsy stuff. I have to say, I'd been neglecting it for a while and working on my shop again has been really refreshing. Here are some things I made today:

So, the rest of the week is looking pretty...empty and for now, I'm okay with that. Feel free to send me awesome tutorials, lists of some good books to read, and other things to keep me busy!

I'm in the hearts club band

It feels like it's been forever since my last post! We had such a busy weekend, it's taking me forever to catch up on things. Unfortunately, my blog and Etsy shop have suffered :(
Saturday we had a delicious brunch at Jesse's parents house. Both sets of his grandparents were there, which was great because we hadn't seen them in a while. We tried eggs benedict for the first time and let me tell you, if you haven't had them before, go now! Make them, try them, and fall in love like we did. We joked the next morning about going to their house and having his Dad make us more of them. I'm now realizing that I've spent the entire beginning of this post talking about eggs...can you tell I've been by myself all day?

In an attempt to catch up with Etsy stuff, I made this cute little heart clutch today. Making clutches is definitely my favorite project now-a-days. I'm always amazed and proud when it's done, staying together, and completely beautiful.

We FINALLY sent out the invitations to the baby shower yesterday! It feels so good to have them done with, and sent, and to know that we'll be showered with gifts and attention very, very soon. It will also be the first time my family and Jesse's family are all together! We're beyond excited.

I've been obsessed with wedding websites lately. Before we found out Sadie was cooking inside of me, planning our wedding was the big event. Now that she's almost here, it's finally time to start planning again. Obviously I'll need a good chunk of time to get rid of the fat that seems to have accumulated from my head to toes during this pregnancy. Ugh, I DEFINITELY won't miss feeling like a  whale on two feet.

Here are some wedding ideas that are inspiring me:

Now, I just need some nice sunny weather to really get things going!

Floods, cats, and huge guts

On my walk today, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the creek by our house was completely flooded. Seriously, here's a picture of the parking lot:

It was SO nice out though. The cold and snow had started to make me such a grump, and a total shut in. This new Spring smell in the air has definitely put a skip in my step!

This morning Louise woke me up by galloping across the bed and jumping into the window. She then raced back and forth through the house until she passed out on the kitchen table. She's the first cat I've ever had, but I would fight anyone who said she isn't the coolest cat they've ever met. She has the best little personality an animal could have.

Here's a picture of my GIGANTIC gut. Sadie B is growing like a weed.

Here's what the rest of the day looks like:
-Ship Love Like Laughter orders
-Eat Spaghetti
-Cuddle with Jesse and receive one of his "so good it's crippling" back rubs
Sounds PERFECT!

What's the highlight of your Tuesday?

A rainy Monday post,

We had a great weekend. This is a photo from our Sunday walk at Kingsland Bay. It was SO beautiful out. The sun was warm, and the wind blew an icy coolness from the water. The day was followed with licking way too many envelopes, free subs, and documentaries. A perfect Sunday!

Saturday the Mom's came over and we did a bit of baby shower planning. I'm not going to know what to do with myself when all of this "baby planning" is over. I guess having an actual "baby" will take up most of my time! We spent the rest of our Saturday thrifting. I found some great fabric, vases, and a huge serving tray for under $3.00. LOVE finding deals like that! After thrifting, we decided we were brave enough to face the weekend Wal-Mart crowd. I HATE, HATE, HATE Wal-Mart on the weekends, and sure enough, it was a mad house. After 30 minutes of pushing through people, my ankles were swollen and my back...ouch. Someone PLEASE remind me of this the next time I think it's a good idea to Wal-Mart on a Saturday.

Now, it's Monday. The morning air already feels humid, and it's suppose to keep raining. Perfect day to stay inside and finish up the millions of craft projects I have started. I'm going to be making a cute ceiling light for the nursery today, so hopefully I'll have a tutorial up later!

Happy Monday!

Ponderosa Lemons

If you've never seen these, take a minute to be completely slack jawed...
Yes, it's a lemon! A ponderosa lemon to be exact. No, I don't know why I think it's so incredible and why after seeing it on Martha Stewart this morning I thought it was necessary to share it with people. Either way, it's the biggest lemon I've ever seen, and I'm sure you've seen too.

It's FINALLY Friday! It felt like it took forever to get here this week. I know I said that in another post, but really, longest week ever. Here are some of the weeks highlights:

...........................
-We got our Kia Sportage back, and no longer have to wonder if we're going to survive our next car ride
-The weather has been tolerable, and is going to be even better this weekend!
-I only threw up twice this week, which is a huge improvement if you knew how much I had been throwing up. I'll spare you of the details...
-I squeezed myself into one of my old "pre-maternity" dresses, and actually looked like I wasn't suffocating.
-We FINALLY finished season 3 of Lost.
............................

Okay, so my week wasn't the most exciting. I spent most of the time doing dishes and laundry and writing invitations for the baby shower. I'm definitely going to need a weekend outing.

Tomorrow my Mom, and Jesse's Mom are coming over to help finish up invitations. I'm SO excited to have the ball rolling on the baby shower. It just makes the ending of this pregnancy feel even closer! Given how un-comfortable I've been feeling lately (like a whale, stuffed in a fat suit, stuffed in another fat suit), anything that makes the end seem closer is a GOOD thing. Anyway, I made these to snack on while we lady chat about decorations and centerpieces...

Pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. I have my own special recipe for these, so unfortunately, I won't be sharing ;)

HAPPY FRIDAY! HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEKEND!

Thank God it's Thursday...

My favorite part of Spring...sap buckets!

Heck yes! With a high of 50 and sunny weather on the forecast for today, I think my cabin fever might be coming to an end! Don't get me wrong, I love Winter. The first snowfall, bundling in cute hats and mittens... Just the sight of what snow we have left over makes me angry now. IT'S APRIL PEOPLE! I'm ready for sunshine and flowers and rain showers already!!! It probably doesn't help that I've been working from home for the past few months with the blinds shut most of the time. Stupid...yes, but it keeps the cold out.

This week has gone by incredibly slow. I've been having a hard time adjusting to my HUGE belly, and it's become impossible to sleep for more than 2 hours at a time. I'm not complaining though, it's all getting me ready for those long sleepless nights taking care of Miss Sadie! Luckily, it's Thursday, and I'm totally hyped up for the weekend. Nice weather, Jesse will be home, and I can foresee a very fun adventure taking place.

What are your weekend plans? What are some nice weather activities we should try?

Introduction!

Hello! Welcome to my blog. If you're reading this, you probably already know who I am. If not, here's a link to my "about" page: http://preciselysteph.blogspot.com/p/about.html.

Here's what I'm excited about today:
-So far, it's not raining
-It might actually be warm enough to open a window
-I didn't throw up this morning
-It's already Wednesday
-I'm almost caught up on Etsy orders, and they'll finally be sent out today
-We're stocked up on orange juice
.............

I'm LOVING that it's finally starting to feel like Spring! To honor this hopefully not too brief bout of nice weather, here are some Spring'ish things that get me excited:

The fact that it's 11:07, and I'm still in bed with Louise (our cat) feels great. The list of things I still have to do today that I purposely have pointed at me, makes my skin crawl. On that note, I'm off to start being productive. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you stay a while!
